PowerDirector

I've already opened a support ticket about this, but I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing this. When I go to produce a video, I click Export, select options, and then click Export, the progress bar under the "Now Producing..." starts at 20% instead of at 0%. As a result, the Time Remaining is inaccurate. As instructed by support, I did a complete wipe/reinstall to solve a different problem, and that problem is gone, but the Produce progress bar problem still remains. It's not dependent on any existing project file. Upon reinstall, the first thing I did was create a new project to test things out, and the bug appeared.

I used the subscription version of PowerDirector until about a year ago and then canceled the subscription because I was tired of having to keep looking for features after some updates that were easy to find the previous day. In addition, it happened from time to time that the functionality suffered after updates. That's why I bought a lifetime version of PowerDirector 21 and everything is good. Now I wanted to test a project that I had created with the 365 version (back then corresponding to version 22). That didn't work (error: “This project was built with a newer version of PowerDirector...”) I bought the “PowerDirector 2024" (--> PowerDirector 22 Ultimate) version separately. Support then told me that projects created with the subscription version can only be opened and edited with the subscription version, but by no means with the lifetime version. Conclusion: Once a subscription, always a subscription...

I have just installed the latest version of PD and I must say that it is still unusuable for video editing because I still can't adjust the volume of individual video clips precisely. The audio mixer is still not able to precisely control the volume of individual clips. This was much better with the PD21 version. Fortunately, I still have the previous version that I can use for video editing!!! When will the audio mixer finally be available again in the old quality? If you make mistakes, dear CyberLink people, you should acknowledge them and fix them!!! It's frustrating!

I have just installed the new version of PowerDirector 365 - and what's new? I can use AI functions (but only a certain number, then I have to pay for the functions in addition to my already paid subscription!?!?), I have new ("mosaic") transitions that I don't need because as a serious video amateur I hardly ever use transitions anyway and I now have groove music that I don't need because I don't like it. But I still don't have a reasonably usable audio mixer that I can use to comfortably adjust the volume of individual video clips with decimal precision. So when will the Audio Mixer regain the functionality of version PD 21 and earlier? Good thing I just bought PowerDirector 21 Ultra. I will continue to work with it for the time being. Thanks for nothing, CyberLink!

The May update removed the speaker icon below the Preview window. When I complained to support, I was told to use the Playback menu, Adjust System Volume or CTRL+U. OK, that worked until now. The most recent June update has now removed that menu item from the Playback menu including the keyboard shortcut. As it stands right now, there is no ability to adjust Playback volume.

Thanks to a glitch (pictured) we can see the difference in clarity between the previous images used for transitions in the catalogue and how they are currently displayed. For the majority of transitions, from the static image, it is not clear what will happen. Keeping things simple is often better... ...I definitely prefer the earlier iconography.

The preview window in Power Director 2025 Ultimate, Version 23.0.0830.1 is not working correctly. the control section does not adjust for window size change. It stays the same and ends up in the middle of the picture and short when window is expanded.

Please could we have a better tool to bulk update in powerdirector when source material changes file path. At the moment, the dialogue shows file name, old file location. When i click to update file location, it opens the standard windows file manager dialogue. However, the file name you are looking for is not carried into the dialogue box, nor can you copy the file name from the underlying Cyberlink dialogue. I'm therefore faced with moving 75 file locations (where i have consolidated my filing), having to long-hand type the file name and it's painful! Please can we have 1) a bulk file location update option for missing source files in a project and 2) for single file updates can the filename be passed into the windows dialogue so you are just changing the file path and not having to re-type the filename every time. This whole process could be much simpler if you can help us....
