PhotoDirector

I have around 40,000 images stored on an external drive. They are pretty well organised in folders so I can usually find what I want to view, e.g. my 2018 campervan trip to Morocco. Many of the images have tags and I am adding more all the time. What I would like to do is search for images with specific tags - e.g. tag;campervan; food; sally – which will find all the images with; campervan and food and sally. Having found these images I would like to show them as a temporary slideshow, without copying the images to another folder. I use PhotoDirector 9 to process and tag images. I can see the tags in Windows Explore for the images exported from PhotoDirector after processing and tagging. The simplest method I have found for searching tags and making an instant temporary slideshow is Canon Image Browser EX but the tags added in PD are not shown. I thought once an image’s metadata is updated this would be visible in any photo program.

Following the installation of update v.17.0.1202.0 for PhotoDirector 365 today, the "Tag Faces" function has ceased to operate. A complete uninstall and subsequent reinstall of PhotoDirector has not resolved the issue, and the "Tag Faces" function remains non-operational. Is anyone familiar with a solution to this problem?

Why is Cyberlink AI so poor, unlike the ChatGPT engine and similar, the translation from image to output is spectacularly poor, most AI engines get it close, Cyberlink, though i am burning through multiple credits, gives incredulously poor results, an example is attached, the result - other than still being dogs - is utterly unlike the input image, in fact it is almost laughably poor, well it would be laughable if it wasn't for the fact purchasing credits on cybelink is vastly more expensive than similar Ai engines, please advise.

skin tone doesn't seem to work in latest version?

Hi all, I’ve been using PhotoDirector for basic color correction, especially on portraits, but I sometimes struggle with skin tone accuracy and getting consistent color between shots. I’ve read about using curves and white balance tools, but it still feels a bit off — especially under mixed lighting. Do you have any workflow tips or hidden tools in PhotoDirector that help with color consistency? I also handle some projects manually outside of PhotoDirector using Photoshop-level tools (sometimes for clients), so I’m happy to share what works if anyone needs help too.

I just updated to the latest version and....what the heck? Now I have to do an extra mouse click for the crop and rotate tool? It used to show all of the aspect ratios once I hit that button. Now I have to drill down to another menu to choose what I want? And it used to be simple like 5x7 and 8x10. Now it's 4:5 or 5:4 etc. Don't any of your developers actually edit photos? At least give us a choice in the settings or something. I want to be quick and move onto the next photo. Not make more clicks just to waste time. If you want to make a real improvement, how about letting us move the manual edit tools in the adjust menu up or down so I can have all the ones I use at the top instead of having to scroll back and forth to choose one? Also, make the scroll bar thicker. It's to skinny to quickly grab. Done with rant.

When you use the PhotoDirector to edit/create your photos, who has rights to the finish product? Are all rights still yours? Can the program/company retain and use them as well?

Where the hell is it? Every time I update the software, I have to relearn where all the tools are. Can't you guys make upgrades without moving all the tools every time. "Edit" is simply gone... In Photoshop, I often used the clone tool to "paint" irregular areas having chosen a source area. I can find the clone and heal tools in PhotoDirector (although they seem to do the same thing), but there's nothing I can find to reproduce the incredibly useful clone tool in Photoshop. I'd appreciate help from former Photoshop users who know what I'm talking about.

How do you stitch photo's together in version 17? I can't find photo merge anywhere.
