I just opened my PD v.15 for the first time in a while. Every time I try to do certain tasks, it prompts me to upgrade (something as simple as importing media). But I don't want to upgrade! I just want to use the software I paid for. Any suggestions?

Try going to General preferences, and deselect the "Automatically check for software updates" option under Internet.

Ashley Williams: Unfortunately that didn't work either. I just want to modify a particle template (.dzp) that I downloaded and imported. It says "Your version of PowerDirector doesn't support this feature" even though I used this feature earlier today. I decided to just import a different particle template and I get the same message. So I gave up and just upgraded to 365, but I can't figure out how to import templates. This is like a whole different world. I guess I get to start watching tutorials. I wish it would have just let me use the features in the software that I already owned.

More than likely the specific particle you were trying to download was made/uploaded from a later version of Powerdirector.
Go to Overlays > My Content > Downloads and then click on Free templates to download Particles from Directorzone. If you want to import existing ones, see the attached snapshot.

GREAT COMMENT! I have been using PDR 15 for about seven years --- first on a Win7 system and eventually a Win11 replacement. It satisfies all my needs so I am very happy with it.
