PhotoDirector

I have around 40,000 images stored on an external drive. They are pretty well organised in folders so I can usually find what I want to view, e.g. my 2018 campervan trip to Morocco. Many of the images have tags and I am adding more all the time. What I would like to do is search for images with specific tags - e.g. tag;campervan; food; sally – which will find all the images with; campervan and food and sally. Having found these images I would like to show them as a temporary slideshow, without copying the images to another folder. I use PhotoDirector 9 to process and tag images. I can see the tags in Windows Explore for the images exported from PhotoDirector after processing and tagging. The simplest method I have found for searching tags and making an instant temporary slideshow is Canon Image Browser EX but the tags added in PD are not shown. I thought once an image’s metadata is updated this would be visible in any photo program.

skin tone doesn't seem to work in latest version?

Hi all, I’ve been using PhotoDirector for basic color correction, especially on portraits, but I sometimes struggle with skin tone accuracy and getting consistent color between shots. I’ve read about using curves and white balance tools, but it still feels a bit off — especially under mixed lighting. Do you have any workflow tips or hidden tools in PhotoDirector that help with color consistency? I also handle some projects manually outside of PhotoDirector using Photoshop-level tools (sometimes for clients), so I’m happy to share what works if anyone needs help too.

Where the hell is it? Every time I update the software, I have to relearn where all the tools are. Can't you guys make upgrades without moving all the tools every time. "Edit" is simply gone... In Photoshop, I often used the clone tool to "paint" irregular areas having chosen a source area. I can find the clone and heal tools in PhotoDirector (although they seem to do the same thing), but there's nothing I can find to reproduce the incredibly useful clone tool in Photoshop. I'd appreciate help from former Photoshop users who know what I'm talking about.

How do you stitch photo's together in version 17? I can't find photo merge anywhere.

I have uninstalled OneDrive on my Windows 11 PC. When I open PhotoDirector 26, it shows the location for project information and preview cache to be in OneDrive folders. How can I change this, since I'm not using OneDrive?

How can I add a caption to a photo in PhotoDirector 7?

Back again with the same problem - PhotoDirector is still not saving animations made in its own software. I make the animation with the app's own tools, click Export, and nothing happens. This used to be my go-to app for quick animations but it hasn't worked in a while. I'm using a Windows 10 machine fully updated.

I've just had to have a new hard drive fitted to my windows PC. I need to create an IPTC profile but can't remember how I do it. Currently using PD14. Any advice greatly appreciated.
