What happened to the ability to select a part of the timeline for rendering?

Used to be able to drag an area from the play head to select a part of the timeline for pre-rendering. That seems to have vanished in the August '24 update. How do I do it now?

I get the "it will be second nature" comment at the end. But adding at least 6 actions to remove a 1 second piece seems like overkill when it was a very quick process before. This is one that is going to take me a very long time to adjust to I think as it adds too many steps

Hi,
Six actions? Not sure where that comes from. Just need to hit the X key to enable. I find it actually works faster. Before I sometimes had trouble grabbing the little nodes, and would grab the scrubber instead.
I have seen here that some people don't like hotkeys, so can understand how right clicking and selecting to enable is more work, but definitely not as many added steps as suggested.
I also like how you can grab any where on the yellow link, instead of just on those tiny nodes.

Well, right you are Ashley! I wasn’t even aware of the F1 key option! I think I’ve seen these lists of new features before, but I didn’t know how to access the list. So now I know. Thank you!

Okay, I figured it out. It's really frustrating that Cyberlink updates the program without any true documentation of changes. They list "whats new", but they don't document changes they've made in other modules.
What used to be a simple click just outside of the "video head" to create a selection region, you now right click on the track and select select clip selection length. I really like the program, but these "updates" need to be better documented.

Caught me out as well, but the hotkey "X" actually makes it slicker overall, I think?

VN800 Rider I didn't know about this and have been all over google and the old forums, thank you for mentioning this I feel less like I'm going to pull my hair out!

Hi,
"Cyberlink updates the program without any true documentation of changes."
Sure they do, check the attached photo. Not sure why you are Googling and checking outdated closed forums for new features, when you could've just pressed F1 and viewed the help:

Changes in a UI are always fraught - I just got a new phone, and the fingerprint scanner is in a different place - it's infuriating now but it'll be second nature in a week or two!
