Transitions catalogue images

Thanks to a glitch (pictured) we can see the difference in clarity between the previous images used for transitions in the catalogue and how they are currently displayed. For the majority of transitions, from the static image, it is not clear what will happen.
Keeping things simple is often better...
...I definitely prefer the earlier iconography.

One thing I forgot to mention is that these new images are also displayed in the timeline.
It doesn't look pretty when ones own clip thumbnails clash with the stock images - in contrast to the simple old blue-and-yellow!

Wow, what a horror show. I feel like giving my old reliable friendly PD20 Ultra user interface a big kiss right now, LOL
I upscaled your image 2x in order to see it better. It appears as if the aerial street scene is Frame A, while the rectangle or square or circle that appears like a black-and-white photo is Frame B that will replace A in the transition effect?
But what a horrible way to represent it. What is CL thinking???
ETA: What version of PowerDirector is that hot mess of a Transition gallery from?

This was the latest upgrade - 23.2.1510.0
It looks worse for the "old school" transitions - brushes, splits and wipes. And, to be fair, some of the "Social Media" transitions do get away with it.
I chose my example because of the juxtaposition of old-style and new-style and the ways they displayed the A and B images (road intersection and New York skyline). Other galleries have different/better/worse images.

I'm trying to make sense of the icons, do they have motion? As I look at the still images they define nothing, at least the old icons make some sense at a glance.

BarryTheCrab 6000+ posts since PD5 Hi Barry, Yes, of course. They preview the transition between two stock image clips on mouse hover.
