I would highly recommend Davinci Resolve. There is a free version (no watermarks or anything) that has almost all of the functionality of the paid version. The studio version (paid) is $295 - one time and you get all upgrades free.
It is a powerhouse, and has lots of options so it may seem hard. Once you learn it though... there is no going back.
The one thing I love most about Davinci Resolve is that it is snappy. There is zero delay when editing - ie: shortening a clip in PD will lag for a second - DR does not lag at all.

You can buy a version but you won't get updates for that version!

Koen Wagenaar But this also means that known functions don't suddenly disappear and reappear elsewhere, as has often happened with the 365 version. In addition, I don't need any updates for version 21 because it does exactly what I want it to do without errors. She easily cuts my videos... Even with a 90-minute 4K project, I had no problems.
I canceled the subscription at the end of 2023 because the new version was so faulty back then that it sometimes took me minutes to even start the program. It was a complete disaster. With that, CyberLink shot itself in the knee — I canceled the subscription. Never again!!

Ok, what's the problem then?

Koen Wagenaar No problems with PD 21 - but with the subscription version in autumn/winter 2023/24 problems without end.

I bought the PD 21 Ultimate as a lifetime version and am very satisfied with it. Alternatively, there is also the PD22 (2024) Ultimate version, but the audio mixer only has one control for the entire track. You can no longer simply control the volume via keyframes. This was only possible up to version 21.
