Still images are pixelated about 3/4 of the way through the exported MP4

A nine-minute slideshow. All the images appear clean and crisp when played on the timeline. When viewing the exported MP4 video however, the images appear pixelated, beginning about 3/4 of the way through. There's no difference in the resolution of the input media. Any idea what could be causing this?

That is odd. Is there a difference in the type of images, e.g., .JPG / .PNG / .HEIC , etc? I typically make sure that all still images I use in PD are 1920 x 1080 JPGs. If any are .PNG or .HEIC, I convert them just for consistency even though supposedly PD can handle all of those.
I would try saving the project again under a slightly different name, i.e. try saving it as "slideshowVers2.pds" rather then "slideshow.pds", then export a fresh MP4 and see if it still happens.
Which version of PD do you have? and is it a local (from disc) copy or one of the newer subscription versions?
