Speaker/Volume icon removed in May 2024 Update
Brian Lightfoot
Put the Speaker/Volume icon back under the Preview Window ! If any audio is previewed and it is extremely loud, how are we expected to turn down the volume? Some background music tracks are like that. Yes, I know how to change the volume of a clip once it is on the timeline but now for just previewing background music or any other clip with audio, PowerDirector gives us no control at all. We could use the Windows Audio control apps to turn down the volume but that would affect how we hear everything on the timeline. You removed the Speaker icon in this May 2024 update and added a Full Screen icon when that option to view the Preview window in Full Screen has always been there by merely right clicking in the Preview window.

I'm using PD 2025 now, and I think the only way right now to adjust preview volume within PD is to make preview go fullscreen then you can adjust it there with a volume slider, then exit fullscreen once you set your desired preview volume

There still seems to be no ability to change the volume in PD, having to go out to the system volume and adjust everything or navigate to the mixer is a poor user experience. where in the development backlog is restoring this much needed function in the preview window. The product is great but this is a really annoying deficiency and a basic fundamental feature. Thanks

Should have mentioned but the older version with the volume mike is 2426.1. I went back to it and once again I would like to express how much I HATE the so called "new version". I'm old, can't teach a old dog new tricks, LOL.

I agree fully and I went back to the older version that has the mike control. Far as I'm concerned they made a BIG mistake removing the easy control and I will not use the newest version. If when it's time to renew I will not unless things to back.

Yep - annoyed the heck out of me too. I used it a lot for the very reasons you give.
Cyberlink - please bring it back

The CyberLink PD documentation still shows the Speaker/Volume icon in the preview window as of June 2 2024 (see attached pic). So is the documentation in error our just out of date? When preview is in Full Screen mode, the Speaker/Volume icon is available.
Also, I can now NOT locate the "undock" icon (was top right corner?) for the preview window. I have to right-click, and choose "doc/undock preview window"
Simply restore these functionalities, otherwise it slows down the production process for all of us.

Gregory Graham - I've seldom found the documentation to be in synch with the current released version. With so many changes happening to the user interface, its a monumental task to make those edits in the documentation in all the applicable areas.
With a large monitor (or even two), I've seldom used the dock/undock icons for the Preview window so I never noticed a change in their availability. However, perhaps Cyberlink substituted the "Layout" icon which provides Landscape, Portrait, and Floating (undocked). And once the window was undocked, there still remains a dock icon in the upper right corner which seems a bit redundant because the Layout icon is still there to switch back to Landscape or Portrait, either of which would re-dock the window.
