Subject: Single Photo Displaying as a Compressed Filmstrip on Timeline in PowerDirector 365
Hello,
I am experiencing an issue where a single, still image file is displaying incorrectly on the timeline in PowerDirector 365. Instead of showing the full photo thumbnail, it appears as a very narrow, compressed strip (similar to a filmstrip or contact sheet thumbnail for video clips). This makes it impossible to see the photo content on the timeline.
I have already taken the following troubleshooting steps without success:
I checked the timeline and track height. I have expanded the timeline track height and zoomed in on the timeline, but the photo thumbnail remains a compressed strip.
I re-imported the photo. I deleted the image from the timeline and re-imported it from my media library, but the issue persists.
I checked the Preferences menu.
I looked in the Editing tab for a "Timeline Preview Output Color" setting but could not find it.
I went to the Performance tab and unchecked "Enable hardware decoding." I restarted the software, but the thumbnail did not change.
Product & System Information:
Software: PowerDirector 365
Operating System:windows 11
I have attached screenshots to help illustrate the problem:
A screenshot of the timeline showing the compressed "strip" thumbnail.
A screenshot of my Preferences window, including the Performance tab, to show my current settings.
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I don't really think it an issue.
The thumbnail of an image display in a repeated film trip is normal, and this change in new version of PD is better than previous one as if the time length of an image is much longer, you won't really know what the image is unless you horizontally scroll back the timeline to the beginning time code of the image to see the thumbnail.
The original single thumbnail was a really small one, which is not easy to check out.
And, you can always see the image on the preview window when you click on any time code on timeline.
Frankly speaking, it is not a bad design for all users universally at least for me.
