Just want to make sure I will have done this in the correct way. I have PowerDirector 20 Ultimate lifetime license.
I'm in the USA and want to create a blu-ray disc to send to a friend in England. The blu-ray will contain 2 videos, one taken with my Canon video camera, and the other with an iPhone. Footage of both shot at 1920 x 1080, at 60 fps. Both imported into my Windows computer as .MOV files.
I specified PAL format when producing the videos (as H264) instead of my default NTSC but I have since learned that the whole NTSC/PAL thing does not apply to HD footage.
I edited both videos in PD20, and the next step was to create the 2D blu-ray disc (with menu because there are two videos.) I use Verbatim blu-ray discs and these two did fit onto a 25GB one. The packaging for the discs does not specify a region code, and from what I have read, blank blu-ray discs are not region locked. There is no option within PD20 to specify a region code when burning to disc. My LG blu-ray writer/player is not region-free but AFAIK the region only matters when playing a disc, not when burning it.
Can I assume that my friend in England will be able to view this blu-ray on her blu-ray player? (I didn't think to ask her if her player is region-free but to be honest, I doubt that she'd know; I was actually kind of surprised that she said yes when I asked if she has a blu-ray player, lol)
