Question for anyone using PowerDirector 2026 (not 365!!)

In Powerdirector 2026 SPECIFICALLY, can anyone tell me what the Disc Creation (2D Disc) options are for blu-ray at 1920x1080p as far as frame rate? (Not 1080i... cannot use that) I have PD20 Ultimate which is now giving me problems burning 1920x1080/60p(28 Mbps) even though it always did it flawlessly on my windows 10 machine. I now have windows 11 and PD20 cannot seem to accurately burn at those specs. The audio track is always off, from the get-go even though the source MP4 is absolutely fine and accurate. The only other frame rate option ifor 1080p in PD20 is 24 which is not acceptable for fast motion like dance and sports which I need to film. What options for burning 1920x1080p exist in PD 2026? Thanks! I have a project due in 3 days and have already trashed 15 Verbatim discs trying to get PD20 to give me an accurate burn. :-( AuthoringWorks7 won't do anything higher than 29.97 in 1080p, so that's out. Ditto for Yuhan's tool. And I need a menu, so TSMuxer and similar are no use here. :-( Thanks!!

I have 2026 Ultimate installed and these are the formats available for burning Bluray discs.

Jets 2011, thanks so much for that. I can see that they still haven't added 30 (29.97) as frame rate for 1920x1080p which is bizarre because that's definitely a BDMV standard. I was hoping that they would have, because AuthoringWorks7 is incredibly fussy and will re-encode if even one single thing is out of standard BDMV specs; I ended up running the project through FFmpeg to downsample and to change the audio from AAC to AC-3 and AW7
still
refused to pass it through! It still showed like 6 different things that triggered re-encoding. Must be the fussiest thing on the planet.Michael Küpper
I have PD21 Ultimate. I don't usually make discs anymore, but I've checked what I can set. There is also the option to set to H.264, then there is also the option 1920x1080 50p (28 Mbps).
There is also “Intelligent Adjustment” Have you tried that?
So that you don't burn as many BD, I recommend that you not burn directly but create a file structure (last checkbox). If it is good, you can first play it for a test with, for example, VLC Player and then burn it using the freeware Imgburn. That's cheaper overall...

Michael Küpper, the problem I'm having with this file is really strange. It will play perfectly as a file on my computer using VLC every time, and the disc(s) will also play perfectly inside my LG blu-ray burner via VLC player also. But as soon as I put the exact same disc into my Sony blu-ray player which is connected to my tv, it becomes hit-or-miss as to whether the audio is in sync (from the very start) or not PER PLAY. I have already (a) replaced the HDMI cable (b) bought a fresh spindle of Verbatim discs, and (c) replaced the blu-ray player itself. I can't afford to replace the tv (which is the only one I have.) and in any case, the tv AND even the original player will play commercial blu-rays just fine. It's insane that the same physical disc will sometimes play out of sync and sometimes in sync. I've never run into that before and I've been making these blu-ray projects (in PD20) for the past 4 years. That said, until this year it was on a Windows 10 machine. This current one is Windows 11 Pro.

Elaine B. That seems to me to be the problem with the Sony player. I think replacing the television is pointless (and expensive). This may fall under the topic of “playback device incompatibilities.”
I don't think the problem is with Win11 either.
Do you have the opportunity to test a BD player from another manufacturer ZTU?

Michael Küpper, that was one of my first thoughts also (after initially blaming the disc(s) and then the software. That's when I tried AuthoringWorks7 and had the same problem. My existing Sony player is the S1700 from circa 2000 so I thought okay, laser is 5 years old, these things tend to start failing after that amount of time unless one is really lucky, even though it had no problem with commercial blu-rays and never had this problem with any of the blu-rays that I burned using PowerDirector 20 in 2020/21/22/23 and 2024. (Those were all done on my previous Windows 10 machine but these latest ones are the first I've done on my Windows 11 one.) Anyway, no, I don't have any other blu-ray players at the moment, and none of my local friends even own a blu-ray player. There are currently only two $100-range blu-ray players from established brands (meaning not made by some fly-by-night Chinese company) that aren't the 4K/wifi type for several hundred dollars, and that's the Sony S1700-U which I bought last week as a replacement (but it does the same thing as the 2020 model) and a Panasonic that is sold out everywhere, including on Panasonic's own site. Amazon claims 1-2 months delivery but I think they're probably being "overly optimistic." I will keep an eye out for the Panasonic in case it comes back in stock but nobody is selling it at the moment. It makes no sense for me to spend $300-$500 for a 4K/Wifi enabled blu-ray player when I don't have a 4K tv and don't stream. Plus, the budget won't allow for it, lol

Elaine B. As long as the films are just for you and your home cinema, there is of course also the option not to produce discs. Instead, create mp4 files and watch them via a media player (or, if your TV can do that) via the USB port on the TV.
Perhaps this is also an option for sharing movies? Nobody in my circle of acquaintances makes discs anymore.

They are for myself but also for several friends who do not have a computer or a tv new enough to have a USB port. Also, I have a strong preference for physical media even simply as a secondary backup (I don't trust the security of cloud storage) to the MP4s on my computer and on an external drive. I ended up buying VideoMasteringWorks which solved the problem of AuthoringWorks compatibility, and switching to a different HDMI port on my tv seems to have solved the inconsistent-play problem in the Sony.
