Trouble organizing large amounts of data

Hello, my database of photos dates back to 2001. The amount of images now stands at 220,000 files and 823 GB. Unfortunately, Director365 is now so unbearably slow that it is no longer possible to organize the data and work.
After a new import, the database no longer stores the data (or it is no longer displayed after a restart), the sync takes more than 5-7 hours :-(.
My hardware is pretty good (processor: Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2592 MHz, 6 core (s), 12 logical processor (s)/Installed physical memory (RAM): 96.0 GB/ NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000), it really can't be that.
Do you know the problem? Is there a solution here, or do I have to look for another application?

I assume you mean PhotoDirector? Only thing I've found similar on the old forum is here :
Much smaller data size but a similar issue??
I don't know how PhotoDirector handles its data - perhaps you are coming up against a practical limitation. You could always ask CS for their take on handling large numbers of files?
