PowerDirector 365 v24.0.1113.0 – Pan & Zoom no longer fills 16:9 frame for portrait images

After updating to PowerDirector 24.0.1113.0, the Pan & Zoom behavior for portrait images in a 16:9 project seems to have changed compared to previous versions (e.g. 24.0.1029.0).
In older versions, applying a Pan & Zoom motion style to a portrait (9:16) image in a 16:9 project would intelligently use the full 16:9 canvas and fill the screen. In 24.0.1113.0, the motion appears to be restricted to the original 9:16 area of the image and no longer fills the 16:9 frame. This makes the built‑in motion styles much less useful for portrait images in landscape projects.
I believe this is a regression/behaviour change rather than an installation or hardware issue, as rolling back to 24.0.1029.0 restores the previous, expected behavior on the same system.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a new project with 16:9 aspect ratio.
- Add a 16:9 video to the project (optional, just to confirm the project aspect).
- Add a portrait image (9:16) to the timeline.
- Click Edit on the image and select Pan & Zoom.
- Apply a motion style, for example “Vertical Up”.
- Expected behavior (before 24.0.1113.0):
The motion animation uses the full 16:9 project canvas and fills the screen while panning/zooming the portrait image.
Actual behavior in 24.0.1113.0:
The motion only moves within the original 9:16 area of the image and does not fill the 16:9 project frame anymore.
Additional detail:
If I try to fix this via User Defined and change the aspect ratio to 16:9, I get an alert that all motion points will be lost, which defeats the purpose of using the predefined motion styles.
Could someone from CyberLink please confirm if this can be reproduced and whether this is an intentional change or a bug?
