No more Playback Volume Control in 365
Brian Lightfoot
The May update removed the speaker icon below the Preview window. When I complained to support, I was told to use the Playback menu, Adjust System Volume or CTRL+U. OK, that worked until now.
The most recent June update has now removed that menu item from the Playback menu including the keyboard shortcut.
As it stands right now, there is no ability to adjust Playback volume.

I came here to report same problem. Why has this feature been removed? It was EXTREMELY useful.

It was an easy convenient option for volume control. Now using system volume requires more keystrokes and slower overall editing experience.
Truely sad that CL can't even knowingly depreciate a feature properly. In May update they removed the speaker icon and apparently support told you to use Playback menu or Ctrl u, now those two features functionality removed in June update but still left the Ctrl u documented in the help system. Maybe a third attempt is required to fully depreciate a feature, incompetence at its finest displayed.

Hi,
You could adjust the Windows system volume directly instead.

OO Lee - Here's the problem with that. I've noticed that a lot of background music comes in blaringly loud. So when you scroll through various music tracks to find an appropriate one, you usually preview it first and turn the volume down while previewing. Using your suggestion, you'd need to use the Windows system volume to turn the sound down. But once you place one of those music tracks into your project with video and audio recorded at a "normal" level, you'd have to go back to the Windows system volume controls to turn it back up. PowerDirector is now the only video editing software on the market that lacks any volume control contained within the program.
