Downmixing stereo audio to mono

I miss the feature to downmix stereo audio to a mono. I use a camera DJI Pocket 3 with two mics to shoot interviews and this camera puts one microphone to the left and the other to the right channel. Everytime I edit the video in PD 365 I need to extract the audio, open it in separate 3rd-party audio editting application, import it to media library and use it on the timeline. This is quite time consuming and it would significantly simplify my workflow if PD 365 could do the downmixing directly.

I understand the situation as outlined, but can you elaborate why you need a mono channel in PDR?
You don't specify which model of Pocket 3 you are using, so the following might not apply, but a quick look on the dji forum indicates that, with certain configurations, a mono .wav file can be recorded. Would this help in your situation?
