Can you edit onscreen photo info?

Robert Olson more details on the photo info you mentioned? You can edit the alias (in the context menu) of your photo in the program.

OO Lee, under VIEW there is an option to hide or view onscreen photo info. The info, includes a description, date, etc. and appears to the right of the photograph.. Some of our family photos have been incorrectly identified and some have only numbers. I would like to correct that information.

Are you using PhotoDirector? That has metadata visible by View/F9. As far as I know only the Capture date and the GPS data is editable within the program. Any other displayed data is taken from the file name and the embedded metadata.
Correcting metadata requires other software and file names are edited as normal in Windows.
Does that help at all?
I've moved the post to the PhotoDirector Board to avoid confusion.

CyberLink Moderator, That is what I would like to edit. I mainly would like to change the file name or description that already exists.

If I change the file name in Windows it makes it so Photodirector can't find it anymore.

PowerDirector and PhotoDirector use the filename and address locations to "point" to an asset. If that asset filename or location is changed, there is no dynamic link to auto-update the change within the project file. Instead, you should get a pop up dialogue box asking for you to browse to the new file name or location, in order for a new "pointer" to be established.
To avoid this pitfall, a proper workflow is helpful, which includes getting your assets (in your case images) organised and named as you want them, before importing them into a project for the 1st time.
If you have many images to rename - there are many free 3rd party bulk renamers out there that can be very flexible and useful.
I'm not sure why you need to change the filename and any other metadata displayed with F9, as it doesn't seem to show anywhere on export, perhaps there's another way to reach your objective?

VN800 Rider Thank you. After I get what I need renamed is there a way to reimport the pictures? Do I have to delete everything and start over?

Depends. I've just updated to 16.3.1607.0 and had a look through it.
There seems to be no way to re-import renamed images and carry the old adjustments into the new renamed file (similar to the Replace function in PowerDirector).
However, you can copy Adjustment Settings from one image to another - Edit>Copy/Paste Settings.
So, in theory, you could import new renamed images (you end up with duplicate images with differing names) and then copy adjustments from the original named images and paste to the new named image, then delete the original images from the project??
It might all be too cumbersome and it only worked with Adjustment Settings. Things like tags etc would have to be redone manually.
