YouCam 6 Interferes with Securus VRE 1.1

Experiencing an interference of CyberLink's YouCam 6 software with Securus Tecnologies' Sercus VRE 1.1 on my HP ENVY laptop P.C. running WIN 11 version 24H2. I don't have this problem when using Zoom. When trying to conduct a videoconference session on Jpay Video Connect, which runs Securus VRE 1.1, the video session's originator camera view (that's my laptop camera's video feed) does not display for the for the receiver and is instead a blank / black screen. They can hear my live audio. I can see and hear the live video & audio of the person at the remote site. But, on my end (the originator), the Securus VRE 1.1's little originator preview window shows a "YouCam 6" logo on a black background instead of the live video feed from my laptop's built-in webcam. After several successful Jpay Video Connect "videoconference" sessions earlier in the year (Jan & Feb/2025 it was working correctly), this issue seems to have started after installing a M/S WIN 11 op system update "24H2" in early March/2025. Yes, an option is to back-out that Microsoft update to see if that's a fix, but that is not a practical solution, as I'm going to need to install operating systems updates on this fairly new laptop for many years to come. Among several fix attempts so far, I have disabled the YouCam 6 software (it was pre-installed to run on start-up; software included with the laptop purchase), cleared cookies, run diagnostics on the laptop's webcam, rebooted (of course), but so far the YouCam 6 logo STILL shows in the my preview window even though YouCam 6 is NOT even running. Any additional solution ideas for this? Thanks in advance!

Hi, well Youcam 6 is quite old and doesn't support Windows 11 anyway, so best to just uninstall? Especially if you are not using it and it's causing you issues.

Hey Jets 2011, Thanks for the feedback. I determined that the problematic YouCam6 software is a part of a CyberLink Media software suite that came with a USB DVD writer/reader I purchased separately from the laptop affected, so I was wrong about the YouCam6 being preinstalled & included with the HP Laptop purchase from HP. The YouCam6 software cannot be uninstalled/removed from the laptop using the "normal" Windows software removal process. It shows up as a unique software, but uninstallation in that way does not actually remove it. I did not want to uninstall the CyberLink Media software suite since it includes utilities that help operate the DVD unit, but I decided to try deleting the entire suite to see if that would resolve the laptop webcam interference issue, and during the start of the uninstall process, I immediately found that the YouCam6 software was among a itemized list of the various software within the CyberLink Media suite, each of which could be individually uninstalled. So, of course I uninstalled just the YouCam6 software on that list, and after rebooting, the webcam interference issue was gone. Problem solved! I'm a laptop user with "adequate" technical systems skills / capability / understanding, not a software expert, so I had not previously learned that some software uninstallations could potentially allow for individual component removal rather than only the entire software suite... It would have saved me time & frustration if various forums I visited mentioned that little fact, or if CyberLink tech support would have informed me about that. Learning something new every day. Thanks again.
