PowerDVD 23 does not play*.mkv files in 4k

I upgraded PowerDVD 22 to 23 yesterday, since then PowerDVD no longer play*.mkv files in 4k.
Windows11 Pro, all the latest updates and all the latest drivers, as well as the required video codecs are installed.
MPC plays them, so it can't be a fault on my system (especially since 4k *mkv files were running with PowerDVD 22).
I just did the upgrade, didn't change any settings or anything like that.
I actually only performed the upgrade because version 22 sometimes did not display any subtitles of*.mkv files.
I would like to ask them to help me as soon as possible, otherwise I won't be able to fully use the program.
It would also be nice if they could answer my tickets and not leave me hanging like that as a customer.
And again in English:

Same problem here, upgraded to 23, installed the patch and won't play MKV, using Windows 11 home edition. Worked fine until now. reinstalled 23 version without the patch and works fine,

The same happened to me. I have installed on a clean windows PowerDVD 365 subscription and mkv files in 4k don't work anymore.
If I use MPC or VLC everything works flawlessly.
I hope they fix this issue soon.

Addendum: I've tried it out myself, when I install PowerDVD 23 blank (I didn't know it worked), PowerDVD 23 plays *.mkv files in 4k.
After I have installed the patch offered to me, it doesn't work anymore. It seems reasonable to conclude that it is due to the patch provided.
Please fix this problem, it can't be that I'm wasting hours of my life trying to figure out why 4lk *.mkv isn't playing. I have 5 unanswered tickets. They answered my question as to whether I always have to install version 22 before 23 first. The least important.
I'm watching this for a few more days now. If I am left hanging in this way as a customer by support, my right of withdrawal without giving reasons is valid within 14 days.

Just a guess, but it sounds like to me you are using the free Essential version of Powerdvd 23, as some 4K videos are not supported in the trail version. If you bought the software, remember you need to uninstall the Essential version and then install the Ultra version from the link you got when you purchased: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/84928.page#post_box_351268

As I wrote in the (so far unanswered tickets), I have followed all upgrade instructions as described.
Again, I've upgraded from version 22, why should I install the Essential version.
I downloaded and ran Cyberlink_PowerDVD23_UlraUpgrade_DVD231206-02.exe for the upgrade, after which I was offered a product update, which I carried out with the Cyberlink_PowerDVD_Downloader.exe file downloaded from their site (why can't you download and save the patch, but have to use the downloader?)
I have written all relevant information in the tickets and I would like to ask them to address my problem. Otherwise, I have to cancel the upgrade and go back to version 22, as the functionality is not there. As I've read on Reddit, I'm not the first one with this issue.
I'd like to express my disappointment as I've been happy with their software and support so far. Also the fact that you can no longer download and save updates, but depend on the PowerDVD Downloader (it no longer works at some point because I don't need the additional extended download service). That doesn't look particularly serious to me, but more like money cutting.
I would be grateful if they could contact my tickets.
